Defence Minister’s meeting with OSCE representatives

On Monday, March 24, the Minister of National Defence, Angel Tîlvăr, met with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, His Excellency Mr. Thomas Lenk, with the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Her Excellency Ms. Kelly Keiderling, and with the Ambassador of Finland to Romania, Her Excellency Ms. Leena Liukkonen.

 

During the meeting, the Minister of National Defence reviewed the support provided by our country to the Republic of Moldova in the field of defence and made an assessment of the security situation in the Black Sea region. 

 

Both the Romanian side and the OSCE representatives emphasized the need to continue the talks related to solving the Transnistrian issue, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing OSCE’s very important role in achieving this desideratum. 

 

Finally, the parties agreed to continue discussions on the situation in the Republic of Moldova, with a view to strengthening regional security and stability.
