SEEBRIG Exercise conducted in North Macedonia
State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, headed the delegation of the Ministry of National Defence that participated on Thursday, April 10, in the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVDay) of "Seven Stars 25" Exercise organized by the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG), over April 2-11, in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Defence of North Macedonia, Vlado Misajlovski.
Romania, which currently holds the rotating Chairmanship of the South-Eastern European Defense Ministers' Meetings Process (SEDM), an initiative supported at the military level by SEEBRIG, had an active national contribution to the exercise, through the 9th Mechanized Brigade "Mărășești" from Constanța, demonstrating its firm commitment to regional cooperation and to ensuring stability and security in South-Eastern Europe.
"Seven Stars 25" Exercise, conducted with representatives from SEEBRIG member states, as well as NATO structures such as the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Greece (NRDC-GR) and Turkey (NRDC-TU), provided a consolidated picture of the brigade's operational capabilities and the high level of interoperability between the SEEBRIG command and its subordinate units.
The SEDM process, initially created to support the Euro-Atlantic integration of the states in the region, has evolved into an essential platform for regional dialogue and cooperation in the field of defence. Significant progress has been made during the current Romanian Chairmanship, including the accession of the Republic of Moldova as a full member of SEDM, the organization of high-level meetings dedicated to strengthening regional cohesion and the resilience of the member states, and constant efforts to develop the operational profile of SEEBRIG.
