Meeting between Defence Minister and Vice President for International Strategic Operations of the American company Lockheed Martin

On Monday, January 26th, Minister of National Defence, Radu Miruță, had a meeting, at the Ministry of Defence headquarters, with Raymond Piselli, Vice President for International Strategic Operations of the American company Lockheed Martin, one of Romania's main partners in the field of industrial cooperation and military procurement. 

The talks focused on the assessment of the implementation status of the procurement programs -currently being run by the Romanian Armed Force- with high-tech systems manufactured by Lockheed Martin, and identifying ways to accelerate the modernization processes of the equipment already in service, as essential aspects for strengthening national defence capabilities.

"Among the successful joint projects run with the American company Lockheed Martin is the hosting, at the Fetești Air Base, of the European F-16 Training Center (the second center of its kind, alongside the one in the USA), translated in terms of our country's commitment to offering the Romanian pilots and those from NATO partner states, including Ukraine, a training environment at the highest standards, with access to state-of-the-art technical resources and expertise," the Minister of Defence stated.

Another topic on the agenda of the discussions was the transfer of technology and the development of our country's defence industry.
