Press Information
On Wednesday, February 25, the Russian Federation launched new airstrikes on the Ukrainian ports on the Danube.
MoND radars signaled the presence of a drone in the area adjacent to the national airspace, which determined the preventive activation of air defence systems, and at around 5:50 p.m., two F-16 aircraft deployed to Feteşti Air Base were scrambled, according to air policing procedures.
At 18:07, a RO-alert message was issued for the population in the north of Tulcea County.
The unmanned aerial vehicle briefly entered the national airspace, in the area of Sfântu Gheorghe, without endangering people's lives, and exited north of Sulina, flying only over the territorial waters.
Alert measures ceased around 6:45 p.m. and no aerial vehicle debris was identified in the area.
The Ministry of National Defence strongly condemns the Russian Federation's attacks on the Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. These actions represent a serious violation of international law and a threat to regional security.
