Following the detection of new drones in the immediate vicinity of the Romanian airspace, a second RO-Alert message was sent to the population in the Danube Delta area and the procedures stipulated for such situations were enforced.

 

At around 11:55, two German Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, as part of the enhanced Air Policing Service, were scrambled from the 57th Air Base "Mihail Kogălniceanu".

 

The air alert ceased around 12:50 p.m.

 

Search teams are currently operating in the field to identify possible unmanned aircraft debris in the targeted areas.

 

The Ministry of National Defence permanently monitors the air space in close cooperation with the NATO allies in order to ensure Romania’s safety and territorial integrity.
