The MoD radar surveillance system detected on Wednesday, July 1, at 13:20, an aerial target associated with a Russian drone attack against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, at a distance of approximately 30 kilometers from Vâlcove, Ukraine.

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of alert measures for the population in northern Tulcea County, and a RO-Alert message was transmitted at 14:09.

Two Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft deployed under the Enhanced Air Policing mission and operating from the 86th Air Base in Fetești, together with a Romanian Air Force IAR 330 Puma helicopter, scrambled at 14:10 to monitor the airspace situation near the border with Ukraine.

No unauthorized incursions into Romanian national airspace or ground impact incidents involving any aerial vehicle were reported.

The Ministry of National Defence informs Allied structures in real time about the situations generated by these attacks and maintains permanent liaison with them.
