The MoND’s radar surveillance system detected on Monday, September 21, an aerial target flying 12 kilometers north of Chilia, near the Romanian border.

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of alert measures for the population in northern Tulcea County, and a RO-Alert message was sent at 05:30 AM.

Two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft, conducting Air Policing Service, scrambled from the 86th Borcea Air Base to monitor the situation.

The air alert for northern Tulcea County ended at 06:14 AM.

No incursions into the national airspace were reported.
