Minister of National Defence, Mr. Vasile Dîncu, at the informal meeting of EU Ministers of Defence

Minister of National Defence, Mr. Vasile Dîncu will participate to the informal meeting of EU Ministers of Defence on 29 – 30 August 2022 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The meeting, which includes three working sessions, will begin with a debate on the global impact and consequences of Russian Federation invasion of Ukraine in the presence of NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and the Chair of the European Parliament Sub-committee on Security and Defence,NatalieLoiseau.
The second session will be dedicated to discussing defenceinvestments gaps at the EU level, during which the defence ministers will discuss the European Commission proposal regarding the Regulation establishing the European Defence Industry Reinforcement through common Procurement Act – EDIPRA.
The new measures aim at establishing the Defence Joint Procurement Task Force set up by the European Defence Agency, the Commission and the European External Action Service, in which the member states experts will negotiate a new Regulation for establishing the European Defence Fund on medium and long term.
On the third session, defence ministers will discuss the outlook of the EU’s security and defence engagement in Ukraine.
