Defence Minister’s meeting with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Romania

Minister of National Defence, Angel Tîlvăr, had an official meeting with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bucharest, His Excellency Moayad Fathallah Mohamed El Dalie. 

The talks agenda mainly focused on the status and perspectives of the Romanian-Egyptian defence cooperation relations. The two officials also discussed the developments of the security situation at regional level, placing a special emphasis on the international community’s efforts in managing multiple crises. 

During the meeting, both states emphasized the importance they attach to the bilateral relationship, with reference to the Memorandum of Understanding on Military Cooperation between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, a document to be signed in the following period, after the completion of the national procedures. 

At the end of the talks, both parties expressed their commitment to continuing the political-military dialogue, in order to enhance bilateral cooperation by identifying joint projects in the field of defence.
