Ministry of National Defence was informed, on the afternoon of Friday, February 28, about the discovery of possible drone fragments -signaled by a 112 emergency calling- in an area near Giurgiulești border crossing point, Galați County. 

 

According to the procedures in force for such situations, the area was secured by MoND and Ministry of Internal Affairs forces. 

 

On the morning of Saturday, March 1, a mixed team made up of specialists from the Ministry of National Defence, the Romanian Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct investigations on the spot and the fragments will be collected for expert examination.

 

We mention that the researched area is approximately 500 meters from the border with the Republic of Moldova, in an extra-urban space, with no infrastructure elements affected.
