Enhanced defence cooperation between Romania and Israel

On Thursday, July 17, Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, received the official visit of the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Romania, H.E. Lior Ben Dor, at the Ministry of National Defence headquarters.

The talks focused on the current status of bilateral defence cooperation, in the context of security developments in the region, generated by the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine.

Ionuț Moșteanu emphasized Romania's openness to new forms of cooperation in areas of common interest, with emphasis on technical-military partnerships and investments in the national defence industry. "Romanian-Israeli cooperation in the field of defence has a solid foundation, built on trust and shared objectives," the minister said.

At the end of the meeting, the two officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintain a constant political-military dialogue and to capitalize on the prospects of various Romanian-Israeli bilateral formats.
