The Ministry of National Defence surveillance systems detected, on the evening of March 17, the signals of a drone in the vicinity of the national airspace, in the north of Tulcea County.

 

The target was reported approximately 20 km north of Vâlcove.

 

In this context, at 19:17, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations sent a RO-Alert message to inform the population in the northern area of ​​Tulcea County. Two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft were scrambled from the 86th Air Base in Fetești, at 19:22. to monitor the situation.

 

The air defence systems are on alert and are ready to intervene, depending on the development of the situation.
