On Thursday morning, May 7th, the Russian Federation conducted a new series of drone attacks on the Ukrainian civilian and infrastructure targets, in the vicinity of the river border with Romania, in Tulcea County.

 

The Ministry of National Defence radar systems tracked the flight trajectory of a drone near the towns of Chilia and Ismail, above the Ukrainian territory.

 

Two F-16 aircraft conducting Air Policing Service scrambled at 08:37 from the 86th Air Base in Fetești To monitor the air situation.

 

The National Military Command Center (core) notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the establishment of alert measures for the population in the north of Tulcea County, and a RO-Alert message was sent at 08:40.

 

Ground-based radars detected the drone's brief entry into national airspace in the Chilia area.

 

The air alert ceased at 09:40.

 

The Ministry of National Defence firmly condemns the Russian Federation’s irresponsible actions of the, which violate the norms of international law and pose risks to regional security and stability in the Black Sea area. At the same time, our institution informs the Allied structures in real time about the situations generated by these attacks and maintains constant contact with them.
