State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Sorin-Dan Moldovan, paid an official visit to Chișinău

State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Sorin-Dan Moldovan, paid an official visit to Chișinău from June 29 to July 1, at the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart, Ghenadie Cojocaru.

 

The visit agenda included meetings with officials from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Defence, the Centre for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation (CCSCD), and the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Moldova, as well as visits to key military units of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova.

 

As part of the visit, State Secretary Moldovan co-chaired, together with his Moldovan counterpart, the working sessions of the 11th meeting of the Romania-Republic of Moldova Joint Military Committee.

 

In his remarks during the committee’s working sessions, the Romanian State Secretary reaffirmed Romania's support for the transformation of the Republic of Moldova's National Army, the enhancement of interoperability, and the advancement of bilateral projects aimed at increasing support from international partners.

 

The Romanian delegation included representatives of the Ministry of National Defence and Romanian resident experts in Chișinău who are responsible for implementing the NATO Defence Capacity Building package for the Republic of Moldova.
