On Thursday, August 27, at 10:08 AM, the MoND's radar surveillance system detected a group of aerial targets in Ukrainian airspace, near the border with Romania.
The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations with regard to the establishment of alert measures for the population in the northern part of Tulcea County; an RO-Alert message was subsequently issued at 10:18 AM.
Two Spanish Air and Space Force F-18 aircraft, currently conducting Enhanced Air Policing Service at the 57th Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, were scrambled at 10:23 AM to monitor the situation. Additionally, a Romanian Air Force IAR-330 PUMA SOCAT helicopter was deployed at 10:33 AM.
