On the evening of September 27, the radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence detected an aerial target moving north of Chilia Veche, on the Ukrainian territory, near the border with Romania.

Two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft, conducting Air Policing Service, scrambled from the 86th Air Base Borcea to monitor the situation.

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of alert measures for the population in Tulcea County, and a RO-Alert message was sent at 20:35.

According to the radar data, the aerial target entered theRomanian airspace through Ceatalchioi area and moved along the border, and its signal disappeared from radars after approximately 10 minutes in the proximity of Somova.

The air alert ceased at 22:05.

A specialized MoND team will deploy on the morning of September 28 to investigate the area.
