Special Operations Forces’ Exercise “JUNCTION STRIKE 21”
The Special Operations Forces’ Exercise JUNCTION STRIKE 2021 (JUST 21) will be conducted over 1st-12th November, in the Romanian Armed Forces’ training facilities and in the areas neighboring Reghin, Brãdet, Miercurea Ciuc, Mihail Kogãlniceanu and Sângiorgiu de Mureș localities.
Thus, over 800 Romanian soldiers, with almost 100 ground, air and naval technical means of equipment and together with approximately 150 foreign soldiers from allied or partner countries (Georgia, Greece, Greta Britain, Republic of Moldova, Poland, Portugal and the United States of America) will train based on a fictitious scenario associated to the hybrid war, within certain operative and tactical structures, within multinational and interagency frameworks.
The main goal of Exercise JUST 21 is the certification of the two NATO capabilities – a Maritime Special Operations Forces and the Special Operations’ Component HQ – but it will also allow the testing of the training level acquired by the command and execution personnel working in the SOF structures that are subordinated to the Romanian Armed Forces’ Special Operations Forces Command.
The exercise aims at increasing interoperability among the participating structures, by planning and executing joint missions and operations specific to the special operations forces, harmonizing working procedures within multinational structures, all these having the endstate of promoting regional security, especial in the Black Sea region.

Several activities will be organized within Exercise JUST 21, as follows:
-“Media Day” for Exercise conducted by the Special Operations Maritime Group, at Mangalia Military Harbour, Constanța County, on Monday, 1st November, starting 13.00.
- “Media Day” for the training activities conducted in Sângiorgiu de Mureș Training Range, Mureș County, organized by the SOF operators within a Ground Special Operations Group on Thursday, 4th November, starting 4.00.
- “Media Day” for the training activities conducted in Cheia Training Area, Brașov County, organized by SOF operators within a Ground Special Operations Group, together with partners from the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, on Thursday, 11th November, starting 11.00.
In attention of the journalists willing to attend the above mentioned training activities:
- Please send your contact data (name, surname, Personal Identification Number, the media entity you represent and the number of the uplink van) as well as the activity you wish the accreditation for by Saturday, 30th October, 18.00, at e-mail address: socom@mapn.ro and aivanof@mapn.ro.
- The access to the areas the exercise is conducted will be made based on the ID card, the press badge and the EU COVID digital certificate.
- We would like that the teams be made up of maximum two representatives of each media institution for sanitary security reasons and also in order to limit the number of participants in the activity.
- The mask will be worn throughout the duration of activities.
