Transfer of authority ceremony of the US forces deployed to Mihail Kogãlniceanu Air Base
The U.S. Army’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team “Strike” and the 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne” of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) are scheduled to conduct a transfer of authority ceremony, on Friday, March 31, at 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Constanța County.
The ceremony marks the end of the rotations of these units in Romania. The program of activities also includes a static display of various international military vehicles, aircraft, and technical equipment and an Air and Land Showcase – a combined demonstration of U.S. Army and Romanian Military forces (air assault mission).
Mass-media representatives who wish to attend the activities are requested to send their identification data for accreditation (name, surname, media institution they represent, series and number of identity card, number of press badge), to email address relpub.um01837@roaf.ro until Tuesday, March 28, 16:00.
The accredited journalists will be expected on Friday, March 31, between 12.00 and 12.30, at Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport (White Gate). The access will be allowed based on the identity card and press badge.

The 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne” began arriving to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in early-March.
In all, approximately 3,800 soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team will deploy to locations across Europe. They are in support of the U.S. Army V Corps’ mission to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank, assure European Allies and partners, and consolidate the North-Atlantic Alliance posture at the Black Sea.
