Transfer of authority ceremony between the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry)
The US 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the US 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) are scheduled to conduct a transfer of authority ceremony on Wednesday, April 5, at 16.30, at the Nation’s Heroes Monument, “Carol I” National Defence University.
The program of activities includes the awarding of the 101st Airborne Division Battle Colours with “Serviciul Credincios” in the rank of Knight with the peace mark for military personnel and a march of the US soldiers and a fanfare performance of the Romanian and American military bands.
The ceremony will be attended by State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, The Chief of Defence Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, the Chief of Land Forces’ Staff, Lieutenant General Iulian Berdilã, the Commander of 101st Airborne Division, Major General Joseph McGee, and the Commander of 10th Mountain Division, Major General Gregory Anderson.
The ceremony will be followed by a press conference held by the Romanian and American officials, at 17.45.
The accredited journalists will be expected on Wednesday, April 5, between 16.00 and 16.15, at the Nation’s Heroes Monument, at NDU.

The soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division began their deployment to Mihail Kogãlniceanu Air Base at the beginning of March, at the same time with the redeployment of the 101st Airborne Division’s military personnel.
