Media Day of Exercise NATO DACIAN FALL 2024

The training sequence of Exercise DACIAN FALL 2024 (DAFA24) open to the media will take place on Wednesday, October 30^th, at the Getica Joint National Training Center, in Cincu.

Planned and conducted by Headquarters Multinational Division Southeast, DAFA24 takes place over October 14th-31st, in Cincu, Smârdan, Capu Midia and Bogata Training Areas, with the participation of approximately 1,500 soldiers from Belgium, France, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and the United States of America.

Journalists interested in participating in the activity are requested to send their identification data (surname, name, series and number of the identity document, their telephone number, media institution) by Monday, October 28th, 12:00, to e-mail addresses dinu.cosmina@forter.ro and huduma.dan@forter.ro.

Journalists will be expected on Wednesday, October 30th, between 09:30 and 10:00, at the entrance of "Getica" Joint National Training Center. Access of journalists will be made based on their identity cards and press badges. Journalists are requested to use portable devices for live broadcasts, as DSNG access is not possible.

To the attention of journalists from Bucharest – The French Embassy to Romania provides a bus, as follows:

5.30 – departure from Bucharest, from the French Embassy to Romania (13-15Biserica Amzei Street);

10.30 - arrival to Cincu, at “Getica” Joint National Training Center

11.00 - 15.00 – demonstrative live firing exercise, interviews and visitation of static exhibition;

15.00 – return to Bucharest.

DACIAN FALL 2024 involves the integration, at division level, of the NATO forces and assets deployed on Romanian territory. It also aims to increase the interoperability of structures for the conduct of military operations.

The exercise trains  jointly forces of the Headquarters South-East Multinational Brigade, the French Rapid Reaction Brigade Headquarters (7th Armored Brigade "LES CENTAURES"), the French Brigade Forward Command Element (BFCE), the NATO Battle Group Romania, the 52nd "General Alexandru Tell" Mixed Artillery Regiment and the 83rd "Bogdan I” Tactical Operative Missile Battalion. IAR 330 Puma Socat Helicopters and F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the 71st "General Emanoil Ionescu" Air Base and Spanish Air Force F-18 Hornet aircraft deployed to our country to conduct enhanced Air Policing Missions are also participating in the exercise.

The training event is a preliminary stage of the "DACIAN SPRING 2025" Exercise, for which France will deploy to Romania, for the first time, brigade-level forces and means of equipment.

DACIAN FALL 2024 is part of the series of seasonal exercises planned and conducted in order to consolidate NATO's deterrence posture on the eastern flank.
